THE LOFIATRON
Cassette / Sampler / Synth instrument for lofi / chill / hiphop / ambient and more!
The LOFIATRON is a custom, handmade, unique musical instrument developed using inspiration from the iconic 1960s Mellotron Keyboard used by bands like The Beatles, Genesis, Yes, and Pink Floyd.
The sound production mechanism differs from traditional keyboards like pianos or synthesizers. The Lofiatron produces sound by playing back pre-recorded tapes of real instruments, Synths, Samples, voices, or any sound you can think of. It has a distinctive and nostalgic quality. This instrument was developed using a circuit-bent cassette recorder and many modifications to create lofi music and lofi ambient drone effects with real analog sound and feel. But you can obviously apply this to any style of music as it’s all about your creativity and imagination.
