THE CASSYNTH
The Cassynth is a unique instrument. By modifying a vintage cassette deck, you now have a very cool and powerful synthesizer, a sampler with unlimited possibilities. Use any pre-recorded cassette. Record your own cassette (you must record using another cassette recorder as Cassynth is a playback-only unit). By changing tapes, your sounds and effects are endless. It is all up to your imagination! Cassynth is completely analog! Lo-Fi analog goodness that can be applied to almost any genre. Although the cassette deck is vintage, they are brand new old stock. The modifications and control box are all hand-wired and tested in-house. The Cassyth is a modified GE portable cassette deck. Please note depending on availability; we may use a different brand of decks.
The cassynth lets you control many aspects of the deck to produce unique and one-of-a-kind sounds. It also sounds great when using reverbs, delays, flange, and more.
It comes with a power supply but can also run on batteries if needed.
